Octavius, a leading transport solutions provider, today announced its membership of the Railway Industry Association (RIA), the UK’s leading rail trade body. This move reflects Octavius’s dedication to support the growth and advancement of the UK rail network and aligns the organisation with an industry body that plays a key leadership role as the voice of the UK rail supply community, recognised as the ‘go to’ body for advising the Government.

Octavius’s membership in RIA, encompassing that of the recently integrated Navitas Engineering Group, will provide the company with opportunities to collaborate with other industry leaders, participate in key discussions shaping the future of UK rail, and contribute to RIA’s advocacy efforts on behalf of the rail supply sector.

John Dowsett, CEO, Octavius, said, “We are delighted to be joining RIA at what is an exciting time for Octavius Infrastructure.  Strong organic growth, which now encompasses key frameworks across England and Wales, combined with the successful integration of Navitas Engineering Group means we are well positioned to work with our industry peers across the sector to deliver the transformational changes needed to address aging infrastructure, capacity constraints and the decarbonisation of the UK rail network.”

RIA Chief Executive Darren Caplan said ‘’We are delighted to welcome Octavius Infrastructure as members of the Railway Industry Association, adding their expertise and a forward-thinking and innovative approach to RIA and the wider membership. It is important to have a wide diversity of rail businesses and disciplines in the RIA family to inform our thinking, and so we look forward to the Octavius Infrastructure team taking part in RIA’s initiatives and events as we work together to help build a bigger and better railway industry with our members and the wider rail supply community.’’

Octavius has so far seen a strong 2024, appointed by Network Rail to the Eastern Routes Partnership (ERP) Framework for Network Rail Eastern Region for CP7; the CP7 Minor Works Framework in Southern; and the North-West and Central (NW&C) Capital Delivery Framework for Major Projects for Control Period 7. The company continues to gain recognition as one of the UK’s leading infrastructure providers, collaboratively working with partners to execute complex engineering projects; inputting into policy development; and nurturing technical innovation.

Membership of the RIA is another step in the company’s journey.
